Namaskar!

I greet the divinity within you. My music reflects my gratitude for spirituality and music in my life. I have had the good fortune to practice Ananda Marga meditation for over four decades. My albums include mantra music or kiirtan, singing the mantra Baba Nam Kevalam, which means Love is the Essence of All as well as albums of songs, including spiritual songs for children. I am also grateful for all the wonderful musicians who have contributed to my albums over many years. It has been a beautiful journey.

Peace Prayer–Ho'oponopono

During an intense and unfortunate conflict with neighbours, I felt guided to learn about and practice this prayer. It comes from the ancient Hawaiian tradition of Ho’oponopono which prioritises restoring relationships to bring healing. It aligns with my own experience that, despite all conflicts and differences, there is an inner space where peace can be found. I repeated these words internally and at points in the conflict when I was inclined to worry and tension, I felt guided to sit at the piano and work on crafting this song. I hope it may help others also find peace. Ho'oponopono is an ancient Hawai'in practice that enhances reconciliation and "putting things to right." It has been used for dispute resolution and mental cleaning that is part of deeper physical healing. Dr. Hew Len, who popularised this prayer, wrote that he used it to heal a ward of criminally insane patients by continually reciting these words for each person, with genuine feelings of unity, forgiveness and gratitude. ------------------ “If we can accept that we are the sum total of all past thoughts, emotions, words, deeds and actions and that our present lives and choices are colored or shaded by this memory bank of the past, then we begin to see how a process of correcting or setting aright can change our lives, our families and our society.” Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, Ho'oponopono teacher ------------------- Lyrics I love you I'm sorry Please forgive me Thank you Whatever comes between us Whatever keeps us apart I know that I'll always find you In the silence of my pure heart Where's peace when we hurt each other? Where's peace when we harm ourselves? There's peace when we come together In my heart I'm here to help ----------------------------- Lyrics inspired by Ho'oponopono, the Hawaiian healing art of reconciliation Popularised by Dr. Hew Len Composed and performed by Kamala Alister Violin, piano, recording and mixing by Kim Kirkman, The Nest Studio Video filming and editing by Sai Kurieta Mastering by Pix Vane Mason Video actors: Kamala and Kim Kirkman With special thanks to: Sai, Kayla, Frida, Anna, Francesca, Emily, Aevum and Fraser the cat Dance choreography concept: Saskia Willems-Brough Filmed at: The Dome, Crystal Waters Eco Village Ananda Kamala Master Unit Sunshine Coast, Australia From the album Treasures Kamala Alister Music ©2025 In association with Renaissance Writers and Artists Association (RAWA), Australia
